Travel opens your eyes, but some experiences completely shift your perspective. My recent trip to Kenya with The Next Step was one of those moments. I was introduced to the organization through The Designers Group's sponsorship of their gallery event, as part of our ongoing commitment to giving back.
The cause really inspired me, and when I heard about their bike ride to Kenya, a friend convinced me to join. I couldn’t resist supporting such an amazing cause and connecting with the strength and resilience that The Next Step represents.

Cycling through Kenya was unforgettable. The landscapes were breathtaking—vast open land, rolling hills, and sunrises that stopped you in your tracks. Along the way, we rode through local villages, watching real-life moments unfolding. It wasn’t just a ride—it was a journey into the heart of the community. Animals were everywhere—giraffes in the distance, zebras crossing our path, and baboons in front of us. It felt like stepping into a National Geographic documentary—except this time, I was part of it. Each encounter was a reminder of life’s simplicity and beauty, untouched by the constant rush of the modern world.

As incredible as the scenery was, the people I met were even more inspiring. Many of the riders were amputees, proving that limits are often just perceptions. Watching them conquer challenging trails, pushing through exhaustion, and riding with such determination was humbling.
Their strength made me reflect on what it truly means to be strong—not just physically, but mentally and emotionally.

This trip wasn’t just about riding—it was about seeing firsthand how support, community, and belief can change lives. The Next Step is doing incredible work—empowering individuals with prosthetics, therapy, and the belief that they can live without limits.
Being part of this journey was an honor, and I left Kenya very inspired by the people I met and the cause I was supporting.
